FROM OLD TO NEW
I have a large stack of old hardcover books that I use for the pages in many mixed media painting pieces.
This week I took some of the covers to use as a canvas to create some small wall art pieces I want to take to the Springfair Artisan Show at Linden Hills.
It is a great way to recycle some supplies and materials you have too much of anyway, and have fun making art.
The Process
Remove the front and back covers from a hard cover book.
Cover with gesso.
Fill with your creation!
Optional: cover the back with decorative paper or paint.
Punch two holes in the top, string a hanger- you can use string, rope or wire.
So simple! And alot of fun.
Here are a few more I have made. They are not finished yet. I want to cover the backs and need to add the hanger.
Who would know these are old book covers being recycled into hangable wall art!
